New World's Tallest Building - the Burj Dubai (Burj Khalifa)

My personal website: http://www.futuretimeline.net --- Introducing the "Burj Dubai". Completed in January 2010, it has overtaken Taipei 101 to become the new World's Tallest Building. It stands over half a mile high, with 160 storeys. That's like stacking 2 Empire State Buildings on top of each other. In this video from 2007, Matt Rogers takes a look inside the unfinished building including a view from the 137th floor. If you love skyscrapers and architecture then visit http://www.skyscrapercity.com and http://www.skyscraperpage.com Burj Dubai thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/...

@bearcolombia makes us feel both like the whole world is going to shift below us, and then everything is going to fall on top and crush us. At least that's how I feel. In my late 20s now it comes and goes, but it was strong even in my teens and too much in my childhood. I would take quick peeks at the tops of skyscrapers, because anything longer would make me feel imminent danger.

@heyheyheyheyhi14 Anablephobia. I've had the same thing my whole life, and haven't met anyone with the same issue. Good to know someone else has it. Fortunately it's not really an issue, just makes it harder to appreciate architecture or even cieling paintings in cathedrals. Perhaps it's something as simple as having had something fall on you or in your eyes as a baby. Maybe even when we started walking, every time we looked up while walking we fell, so looking straight up high
